It can be draining to find yourself once again caught up in the fast-paced, emotionally heated back and forth of, “I’m always asking for X! You never do it!” and “Well, you don’t understand Y! You never listen to me!” And it can feel lonely as the distance between you sets in again.
As a relational therapist, I help clients move from feeling defeated by the deepening divides in their relationships to re-imagining what being a team means to them. I guide partners in becoming curious about each other’s experiences. Because feeling something different often requires seeing something different. And seeing something different sometimes requires asking yourself what else there might be to see, and taking another look. We’ll also explore what you want your relationship to look like and spend time learning and practicing the tools you each need to make that happen.
I work with adults whose relationships are impacted by anxiety, depression, and/or other mental health challenges, parenting stress, imbalanced division of household tasks, past trauma, infidelity, minority stress, differences in neurotype (e.g., autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, neurotypical, etc.), and/or differences in intimacy needs and desires (including asexual spectrum- & aromantic spectrum-related concerns). As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I enjoy supporting clients embrace their full selves. I use an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+-affirming, neuro-affirming, body positive, poly-inclusive, kink-affirming, sex positive framework.
My clients say they appreciate the informal, comfortable atmosphere during sessions, feeling absolutely no judgment, the helpful suggestions, tools, and metaphors, the kind and firm way I pause and redirect the conversation when needed, and my enthusiastic celebration of their attempts and successes.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of Ohio. I earned my Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University in Chicago, IL. I primarily practice narrative therapy and emotionally focused therapy (EFT). I collaborate with each client to figure out what approach works best for them.
Isabelle Gangloff, MFT is under the supervision of Joel Ketner, MS, IMFT-S, F.1400015-SUPV
